The IP Celebration sets the stage for growing Georgia’s IP Ecosystem #AtTheFox
On October 17, 2019, approximately 300 people in the Georgia community came together in the Egyptian Ballroom of the Fox Theater to celebrate the amazing work that hundreds of people are doing to help the state bring intellectual property awareness, education, collaboration, and impact to its citizens.
Excellent speeches were given by Steve Justice, Executive Director - State of GA Center for Innovation, Russell Allen, President - Georgia Research Alliance, Art Recesso, Chief Innovation Officer - GA Board of Regents and Keith Cowan - Vice Chair - Georgia Intellectual Property Alliance.
GIPA recognized GA IP Legends: Miles Alexander, Bill Needle, Michael Landau, Lawrence Nodine, and Bill Curry; IP Community Service Award recipients: Michael Hobbs, Jamie Graham, Chris Lightner, and Bill Ragland; and Corporate Innovation Award recipients: Meredith Ragains, Cheryl Tubach, Emily Gravois.
GIPA also celebrated the outstanding 60+ GIPA Board Members representing the various constituents of the Creator, Protector, and Enabler GA IP Community, as well as approximately 50 Sponsors and 150 Founders. With the energy, alignment, and momentum from such a great evening and year, the State of Georgia is now positioned to take intellectual property to the next level.
A deep and appreciative thanks from GIPA to co-Chairs Wade Walker and Sean Bedford for the tremendous effort needed to make this evening so special for all.
