GIPA’s first-ever IP Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service was instituted for promising individuals making contributions having a lasting impact on society. The first Award recipient is James H. “Jim” Johnson Jr. of Eversheds Sutherland. GIPA also proudly recognized three professionals for The IP Community Service Award. These outstanding individuals include Noah Graubart, Fish & Richardson; Matthew Howell, Alston & Bird; and Gail Podolsky, Carlton Fields.

Intellectual property leaders today launched the US IP Alliance, an organisation geared towards uniting IP groups, creators and owners in a mission to educate the general public across 50 states on the value of patents, trademarks, copyright and other forms of IP.

On October 17, 2019, approximately 300 people in the Georgia community came together in the Egyptian Ballroom of the Fox Theater to celebrate the amazing work that hundreds of people are doing to help the state bring intellectual property awareness, education, collaboration, and impact to its citizens.
